This module is currently under development and will be released soon.
Drupal's Field API is powerful for defining arbitrary fields on entities, but it doesn't clearly distinguish between content fields meant for end-user display and metadata fields meant to store metadata/attributes about that content.
Metafield aims to introduce a modern, extensible approach for handling entity metadata in Drupal. The goal is to make metadata easier to define, manage, and query without complex schema configuration.
Key features and technical details will be documented after the initial alpha release.
Post-Installation
No functional release is available yet.
After installation in future versions, users will be guided through a setup process from the module's configuration page under Structure → Metafields.
Documentation and video walkthroughs will be provided once the first stable release is published.
Similar projects
While other modules address entity fields or metadata in various ways, Metafield will focus on offering a simpler, more unified, and runtime-friendly approach.
