Hello.

I've contacted the maintainers and the contributor of the 7.x-1.x branch via their profiles asking for a status that allows me to contribute to the code. If the project for some reason is abandoned in the 7.x-1.x branch I gladly offer to co-maintain this branch.

The patch includes a change in the implementation design and fixes several open issues.

I'll take a look at the patch and take it into consideration. This may take a while. The patch moves around and changes indenting on a lot of code even if it wasn't modified which will slow down the process.

Thanks. Please wait before doing extra-work. I will provide an update for the patch to make life easier for you. It's true, the patch moves things a lot and formatting is not what it should be. The new patch will include https://www.drupal.org/node/2018923#comment-9459467 as it was never included in a commit to the 7x-1.x branch.
