This issue may be related to #1160234: Blip have changed - urls not working. I am using a fresh download of the dev code.
When I use this URL:
http://blip.tv/the-seed-company/the-word-comes-to-gombe-5469593
I get this error:
You have specified an invalid media URL or embed code.
I am investigating.

dpearcefl commentedWhy was emvideo_bliptv_convert_url() dropped from bliptv.inc?
In emfield.module in the emfield_parse_embed() function, we have this code:
$embed going in is populated with the URL but because emvideo_bliptv_convert_url() is not defined, the return is blank.
If I add this function back into bliptv.inc, stuff starts to work again.

acausing commentedSubscribing,
Anyone happen to found the fix?
@dpearceMN
Can you post the whole function with _convert... that makes your blip.tv working again?
Thanks a lot.
Edited:
It seems fixed by this patched:
http://drupal.org/files/issues/support-new-bliptv-urls-1160234-52.patch
Thanks a lot.

dpearcefl commentedI had pulled the latest code from git (which included that patch) and my problems was NOT resolved until I added the function back into the code.
I was hoping to hear from the module maintainer before I posted a patch.
jmcclelland commentedDo you think you could post a working patch? Even without the maintainer's feedback, it would be nice to have something to fix this problem.
thanks,
jamie

Anonymous (not verified) commentedIs there any time frame on a fix to this bug? I'm not clear on how to implement the solutions referenced above, but would love to be able to use blip-hosted media again.
nrackleff commentedI'm having the same problem. I have tried entering the following 3 URLs and it won't work any of them.
I've tried this with the embed box checked and unchecked and it makes no difference. I have tried it with the 6.x beta and the current dev version.
Is any one of these the correct format for the URL?

tech4him commentedJust a note. I updated emfield to the May 2011 6.x-2.5 version which apparently we had missed. The Blip.tv URL's are now working fine. Not sure if that helps anyone else, but was just what was missing for us.

Krabbie commentedI got the same error and tried to install the 6.x-1.x-dev version instead of the beta, and it works. I used this URL: blip.tv/bimbyendk/episode-6071710
