translatable column/row headers

Been fiddling around trying to see if there was any way to provide column/row header translations. Actual content of the table as entered by the user is not so important as it will be mainly numerical. But, I'd like to be able to define the headers using a translatable string e.g. using t("title"); What would be the easiest way to do this. Don't mind hacking the module myself, I just wonder if someone could point me to where in the code I should make these changes? Cheers
