Anyway to make this faster?

I am using this awesome module to calculate total of a couple of fields...

I was simply wondering if there was any way to make the actual "ajax calculation" faster...

All of our intranet is run locally (not via internet), yet it takes a very long time to do a 5 fields equation...

10 + 10 + 10 - 10 - 10 (takes between 10 and 15 seconds) of the ajax logo spinning before the results show up...

and its roughly the same time if its with much bigger numbers too...

Anyone know of a way to speed this up somewhat?
