Mail headers are very light to prevent abuses.
The patch included add the following headers to emails:

  • X-Originating-IP (could be reformated to "Received" headers, but since "Received" header shoul be made from a previous MTA, this "X-Originating-IP" seems to be the (most) best place to put the client IP information.
  • X-Mailer : changed to include the "module" emiting the mail ; ie: X-Mailer: Drupal / contact
  • Content-Language: expected to be the client preferred language (browser 's "Accept-Language"); not really sure that this drupal variable reflect the client "Accept-Language"....

Hi Guys

Thanks for the patch.
I'm actually thinking an admin interface for headers plus tokens would be pretty cool, and I think I'll take that approach. That way admins can choose which headers to mod and with what values.

I'm changing this to needs work until I have the time to create the functionality, or a patch is provided for such end.

Cheers

For alternative functionality, I just threw this together:
