This module works great for capturing some data, but a few features are missing from making it robustly monitor user performance.
I've added a 'logout timestamp' column and a 'logged on time' column and views handlers for these fields.
I needed a permission so a role to be excluded from login tracking: Added permission 'exclude from login tracking'
I was looking for a way to trigger an automatic logout after a period of inactivity:
I've patched to include a submodule 'auto_logout' (not to be confused with contrib module 'autologout') which has a configurable time (in seconds). It compares the sessions table to the login tracker table. If more time has passed since the last timestamp in the sessions table, the user is logged out automatically.
I wanted to index all this data via search_api, so i've integrated the login tracker row with the entity api (now this is a requirement of the module).

leewillis77 commentedHi;
Thanks for taking the time to produce the patch - however I think you're fairly significantly changing the scope of what the module does. This is not meant to be an all inclusive user tracker, or exert any control over login / logout behaviour, so I wouldn't want to roll this in as-is. If you want to develop a comprehensive user tracking module then I'd suggest that would be best done as a separate module. Obviously feel free to fork this as your starting point if you like - although I wouldn't personally.
I did want to make one note about your issue report - you said:
The module already provides a permission to exclude roles from login tracking.
