Is it possible to do proximity filter based on a text input?

I currently have a view that sorts nodes based on proximity from a users location entered on their profile/edit page and it works great. But I would also like a text box filter on the view where a user can enter a street address and then have the resulting view sort nodes based on distance from that location.

Any pointers on how to get this working? Currently my users have to keep going to their edit profile page and changing their address when they want to find nodes near another location and I would like to make it as seamless as possible.
