How to create a map 'block' to show up on non node pages?

First off, is it possible to create a map 'block' that shows up on non node pages? I am able to easily make the map display on a 'page' view by using the NID argument. However, shouldn't this work if I pass this argument in a block and only try to have it on pages with the NID in the url still? I have dumped my view below.
