I'm using the location module in connection with gmaps, and nodes have only lat/lon information. That means that the "available features" are enabled for no country. Yet I have the search by location tab on the search page, which doesn't make sense at all.
It would make sense to hide it autmatically in this case, or to provide a choice whether search by location should be enabled or not.

Great module, by the way!

Cheers,
Ben.

Thanks for a great module.

All my location information is based on LatLon and not zipcodes.Thus, I also wish to delete the 'by location' tab on the search form. I also need to unset the 'See map: MapQuest' (or google,yahoo) since this is not LatLon enabled. This is controled by the 'map links' selection (admin/settings/location/maplinking) and seems to be a must select item. Any thoughts on where I can comment out code would be helpful.

The issue 170599 @ http://drupal.org/node/170599 has been automatically closed without resolution.

I'm also trying to remove the search by location tab... any thoughts appreciated!

although this may not work for you, i use the Framework theme and what i did was use Firebug for Firefox and see that the Locations link was printed as one of the "tabs primary". so, i then created a new page-search.tpl.php in my theme folder. it was just a copy of page.tpl.php, except i switched this line:

if ($tabs): print '<ul class="tabs primary">'. $tabs .'</ul></div>'; endif;

to

if ($tabs): print '<ul class="tabs primary">'. '</ul></div>'; endif;

that removed all the $tabs, including whatever other ones were there (if any). i believe there is a way to get the $tabs array, remove a certain one of the tabs by name, and then print the first line in page-search.tpl.php, with the Locations tab removed. you might search the forums for a way to do this, but you could probably do it with php inside the page-search.tpl.php before this line of code (in which case you would use the original line of code above, not the one with $tabs missing, because the one with $tabs missing removes all tabs).

hope this helps!

Just disable the Location Search module

Tle solution i find was to edit the file search-result-location.tpl.php (modules\location\contrib\location_search\). But the location fields still be indexed.
It should be a way of disable some location fields from search index if i want do index fields like city, province, but not adress, phone, fax.
