Library of Locations

On a couple of my sites, I have a lot of nodes with locations but they tend to use a few locations over and over (e.g. fields where sporting activities take place).

Is there any way to do a "Location Attach" where you can pick a location from a list of already defined locations? Ideally I would like the real location to be rendered when the node is viewed and gmap_location block to be displayed.
