sansui commentedI noticed this in 5.x version too - did you also check the entire field as "Required" up where there is also the "Multiple Values" checkbox? I noticed that once I had the main required box checked, and then checked the required fields for each, they showed up again

I was just about to report this.

sam_squarewave commentedHi,
I checked ' Collect during registration' and it showed up. It works, but seems to be strange behavior - even if a location is optional, things should still be required when it is input.
sam_squarewave commentedOne more note. I've created a location for a content type and the same behavior is occurring, and there seems to be no workaround.
tgeller commentedI can confirm this, in a pretty fresh installation of Drupal 6.10. Here are the steps to reproduce:
1) Create a content type
2) Enable it to have a minimum of 0 locations, max of 1, entering 1 at a time.
3) Change "Location name" to Required.
4) Change all other fields to Allowed.
5) Attempt to create a node of the new content type. Note lack of a place to enter "Location Name".
Seems to be doing the exact opposite of what it should... :(

yesct commentedThe version on this issue is marked at 6.x-3.0. I believe upgrading to 6.x-3.1 either rc1 or dev fixes this. Please try one of those releases and post back. Thanks.
farald commentedI use rc1, and am having problems with the location lat/lon fields. Can't get them or the map showing.
In user/x/edit, everything works fine.
yesct commentedhamaldus, please post back with more details. Maybe some screen shots.
A step by step starting with a fresh install would be helpful to be able to confirm this, and see exactly what you are going, and maybe spot the problem.
farald commentedThe map / location picker is not showing up in the user/register form.
Everything else works.
You may look at the registration form here:
http://divemaps.org/user/register
But there's not much to look at, the form (exept the fieldset) is missing.
I have enabled location name (which is not supposed to be there) to illustrate.
I have attached a image of the user settings form below.
farald commentedFIXED!
Finally, I found out what was wrong.
Anonymous needs the permission 'set latitude/longitude' under location permission.
EDIT: Dunno if it was right of me to close this. If not, just reopen it, but it seems to me (#6) that it's fixed and everybody's happy:)
