I had searched around the project and documentation pages for Location but found no Australian zipcodes database, so I created one (after spending a fair amount of time finding and combining multiple sources of data). The documentation page states that there's only US data (as of 2005), and there's also a link on the documentation page that says it will take one to the US data (and doesn't mention other countries). I happened to follow this link afterwards and discovered that there is in fact data for several countries available from CVS! It could save a lot of people a lot of time and hassle if the link to this data was relabelled (as not just US but for several countries) and made more prominent in the documentation, and a link was also placed on the main project page.

It sounds like these databases will be available in the next version at which point this would be a non-issue (unless new data becomes available but isn't released in a stable release), but at the moment it's very frustrating...

Somehow I didn't think to look in the issue queue (which was pretty silly of me, admittedly), and that has an Australian DB in one of the issues (http://drupal.org/node/150256) but it doesn't link to the latest data (I'll post a comment to link to the data available from CVS).
