I guess this is one of those edge cases that don't come along that much.

I'm running Drupal 5.3 with the location module installed (v 1.79.2.13 2007/10/19).

I was configuring a site and testing mainly on my Mac with FF and Safari 3. The moment when I started testing in IE7, stuff started to go wrong.

It seemed that every time I displayed a node that had a location attached to it, with long and latitude geocoded by the GMap module, my site's layout would go completely nuts. It seemed that everything after the node wouldn't display.

I tracked it back step by step and found the problem to be caused by IE7's interpretation of the tag which is generated by the location.theme on line 179 in the theme_location function.

Currently, in the code, the tag is not closed. After closing the tag, IE7 seized to have problems with rendering my page.

I changed

$output .= '<div class="geo"><abbr class="latitude" title="'. $location['latitude'] .'" /><abbr class="longitude" title="'. $location['latitude'] .'" /></div>';

To

$output .= '<div class="geo"><abbr class="latitude" title="'. $location['latitude'] .'" /></abbr><abbr class="longitude" title="'. $location['latitude'] .'" /></abbr></div>';

Thought I'd just report it here in case anyone else runs into this.

I can confirm that this is happening to me as well, but primarily within the context of teasers. http://[domain]/taxonomy/term/[termid] would return a full HTML document, but the characters and the fonts would get smaller and smaller as we went down the page. I used the code above to patch, and this totally fixed my issues within IE. (I had no issues with the previous code with Firefox 2.x.)

I am using Drupal 5.5 with location.module,v 1.79.2.14 2007/10/31.

I strongly encourage inclusion of this code in the next release. Thanks.
