According to the field instructions on the Longitude and Latitude fields:

If you leave these fields blank, the system will attempt to determine a latitude and longitude for you from the entered address.

I can't get it to calculate any addresses, even given full information and zip codes. Something is disconnected, but I don't know if it's just me, or if there's a bug, or if the lookup resource is not working.

Two important points about making the geocoding work in Locations.

1) You must have a geocoder installed and enabled. This means having GMap module installed and enabled and your Google API key code entered.

2) You must select the geocoder for each and every country (who's idea was this??) that you want geocoding to work for. See Configuration >> Content authoring >> Location >> Geocoding options, or go to /admin/config/content/location/geocoding .

I was able to get geocoding to work in a simple test site, once I made sure to set the above items.

FOR EXISTING NODES:
If you want Locations to geocode them, you must make a change in the address fields of the Location field array. Change the city, state/province or country, and it will suddenly work for that node.

-OR-

You can change all existing locations in bulk. First, go into the "location" table in your Drupal database and change the "source" column to 4. Then go to your Location Config page and turn on JIT geocoding. Then, whenever you enter each node to edit, geocoding will happen, even if you don't save it. It's supposed to work even if you just view the node, but that didn't work for me. Detailed instructions are found here: http://drupal.org/node/1041632

NOTE: There are a few locations the geocoder can't figure out. Don't let those discourage you.

issue is same for me too.

1. geocoder is installed as gmap

2. geocoder for country is set as well

And this is still not working. It works only if i use "Location + Gmap 'Find Address' button" submodule and manually use the button. What should i check/set more?

I have been trying to get this working for 5 hours now to no avail.
Any further advise would be appreciated. I tried everything in #2.
I have a very hard task ahead of me if I can't get it working as I have to input thousands of locations and the thought of manually having to choose the location of each one is beyond awful.

I am having the same issue. Any more suggestions? Or anybody has resolved this?
