In am testing gmap and location modules in a Drupal "sandbox" installation.
D7 + Bartik theme + gmap module + location module
No other contrib or custom module, only one node for testing
I activated only "Gmap", "location" and "node location".
I filled a node with the php function gmap_simple_map(). It works
Then I activated gmap location chooser in the node edit and there is the PROBLEM: When I open the location chooser, gmap is displaying only a part of the map in the top left corner. I have to enter coordinates if I want to see the full map.
I have another site for production
D7 + customised Bartik theme + gmap + location + some other modules
In this site the problem is more accurate. When I open the location chooser, gmap is displaying only a part of the map also in top left corner. I also have to enter coordinates if I want to get the full map. In addition: display chooser (map, satellite, terrain) is not active and mouse cannot move the marker.
I worry if its a bug in gmap + location modules or if I made a wrong setting. Both site are in localhost server.
Thanks in advance for you help

gilbertdelyon commentedNext step:
I disabled "node location" and enabled "location CCK" .
No problem with location CCK. Map is fully displayed in gmap coordinate chooser.

rooby commentedCan you please post a screenshot of one of the problem maps?
If you click and drag the map can you then see the full map?

-> see attached document

-> No,
The only way I found to see the full map is to resize the browser window.

rooby commentedI can definitely reproduce this when I set my map size large enough.
I will investigate.
Comment #5
rooby commentedI had a quick look and found the cause of the problem. A solution will have to wait for some more free time.
The problem seems to be the maps don't like being the in the vertical tabs.
On location_cck locations they are not in vertical tabs and work correctly.
On location_node location they are in vertical tabs and don't work correctly, however if I move them outside the vertical tabs they work as expected.

hutch commentedI can confirm rooby's findings when *not* using CCK, if I open the vertical tab the map is there but crippled, if I then reload the page the whole map appears as it should.

Taras Zavaliy commentedI get the same bug while viewing map placed in collapsible fieldset. Setting the collapsehack flag has no effect.

jorditr commentedHi you all. It looks that the same happens when placing the CCK location field inside a fieldset and having it collapsed on the edit node form. I've set the node edit form that way because we want the location information on that node type to be optional and we let the editor to open the fieldset only in case he wants to add location data.
It looks like the gmap area doesn't feel confortable inside a div which is hidden. Curiously I've had a similar issue on another geolocation module (not Gmap based). I've hidden the gmap on a collapsed fieldset on the node edit form and when we open the fieldset the map coming from Google Maps only displays partially.
Any idea on how to solve it?

jorditr commentedAh! How? It's on the regular node edit form.
Comment #14
calculus commentedI cant help you with edit form. Recently i was implementing a custom google map formatter and i realized that google map behaves like this, inside hidden div. I solved it by reloading the map.

jorditr commentedI'm still having that problem. I've discovered that Gmap module has on its configuration page some parameter called "collapsehack" which is supposed to "Enabling this will work around some issues that can occur when maps appear inside collapsible fieldsets". Anyway, I got a CCK location field on a node inside a collapsed fieldset. When I open it that map is a mess. Still looking for a solution.

MilOrg commentedTry changing the form weight and display weight to -10 when editing the content type. That seemed to do the trick for me :-)

alan d. commentedThis was just fixed within the GMap module.
For D7, I used the patch here: http://drupal.org/node/1064448#comment-6687728
