Is there any plans to make this module available for Drupal 6.x. I have a very huge and successfull website developed using this module and I wanted to port it to Drupal 6

Absolutely. The port is already underway, but there were enough API changes in Drupal 6 that it is a fairly complex task. I don't have an estimated date yet, because my Drupal programming is a spare-time effort, but I can tell you that my own web sites can't migrate to Drupal 6 until I finish porting Links, so the incentive is certainly there. :-) The main links.module is already ported and checked into CVS HEAD, but the other modules are not yet ported.

I am just finishing up a volunteer commitment as the Chief Technology Officer of a large nonprofit organization. That ends April 15, and after that my time becomes a lot more available for Drupal. I'm working on the Links code in the meantime, but may not get it done until after this other item is off my plate.

If you want to help move things along, watch the project page for a beta release in the next couple of weeks, and help with the release testing.

The current beta is getting close to production status. I am cleaning up a few minor issues before release, but it's feature-complete and reasonably stable. That being the case, I'm marking this issue fixed. Thanks for your patience as I caught up on this large development project.
