I am using a static title for a link field and when I use html tags, they show up as part of the link instead of actually changing the appearnce. Am I doing something worng?
I am entering Visit Website as the static title.
In the node view, the link is displayed as Visit Website instead fo being bold. Also, is there a way to insert a line break after the link in the node view?
Thanks!

Dreher commentedOOPS,
I inserted the html tags in the issue description above and of course they were applied when submitted. I was trying to show the tags I was using. Here's a pic instead.

jcfiala commentedHuh.
That's definitely not working right.

jcfiala commentedInteresting. Am I correct in thinking that you're not using the token module on that site? Amusingly, the link wouldn't be affected by the 'strong' tag if the token module is off, but would if it were on.
I've added a fix - try the 6.x-2.x dev version, probably tomorrow. (2/22)

Dreher commentedYou are correct that I am not using token. Should I be? I haven't encountered the need for it yet, but may in the future I guess. If that is an easy fix, I can just add the module.

jcfiala commentedNo, no, it's fixed. But that's just it - because of a fault of the logic in the link module, you would not see this as not working _unless_ you're not using token. And since token is required for pathauto, one of the most-used modules out there, hardly anyone else ran into it.
So, it's good that you're not using token, because we wouldn't have found this bug otherwise.

awasson commentedIt's back....
I'm not sure when but I think the update earlier this year created this issue again.
I have a couple of links for Social Media with static titles wrapped in span tags. The idea is that I can use CSS to hide the titles and show the social media site's icon instead. Sometime in the last while something has broken this and now the span tags are escaped and show up as <span>Twitter</span> or <span>Facebook</span>
I was using the latest 6.x-2.1 but now I'm running 6.x-2.10+0-dev (2013-Sep-30)
I am using Token 6.x-1.19 if that matters.
