to something other, because it is not in core any more.

Oh? It was my understanding that folks wanted to absorb the Link module into core for D8. What happened?

I assume we can remove the postponed status, since all my last D8 dev installations of the last months all include link field already. I assume, there will be no new change on this in the next few months before final release.
