I am looking for modules to build an LMS. At a minimum I need a module to create quizes and was hoping to find a module that restricted progress through a book such that the student could only move ahead after successfully completing a quiz or several quizes throughout the book.

this modules appears to be exactly that, but there doesn't seem to be much support or activity. is this project active? what is the future? is it in production anywhere?

Yes, it's active.
It's heavily in production at our own university.
At the moment there's not much happening in LinearCase, as most of the activity is in ClosedQuestion (the module that supplies questions that a case uses)

Future plans include:
* Storing variables in a case from questions, so that a series of questions can use the same numbers, and so that questions can proceed calculations using the student's exact answer.
* Branching in cases.
