It would be nice if jplalyer can recognize any mp3 link inline and automatically convert it to a player, sort of like what embedded media field does.

geerlingguy commentedSubscribe. This would be 100% win for me, as I have a site where all files are hosted off site, and we currently just link in the body of the text to the mp3 file. Would be cool if this module had some ability to customize it and let it pickup inline links... I don't know if that's in the module's scope, though.

quicksketchThe Flash-fallback does not allow you to access files across domains. Since this is what's used still for 90% of browsers (even Firefox 3.6, which does not have HTML5 support for mp3s), this would have limited application for your use.

Flying Drupalist commentedI think you can enable it with crossdomain.xml?
quicksketchYes you can enable access of remote files across domains with crossdomain.xml, but that file needs to be placed on the remote server that contains the mp3 file, which I'm assuming you wouldn't have access to most of the time.

Flying Drupalist commentedWell it depends on what he's doing. If he's trying to play someone else's audio then it would probably be no go, but it sounds like he's simply storing his audio on amazon s3 or some such, in which case he should just figure out how to use crossdomain.xml.

geerlingguy commentedI'm using a friend's server, with a few TB of free storage, and very fast bandwidth (hosted in STL, MO), and I can place that file on the server... I'll look into this solution.
