The ISORegistry module is used to register items, i. e. pieces of data/knowledge of general interest in a data infrastructure (much like a thesaurus, which stores the common understanding of vocabulary inside a certain domain/ data infrastructure).
In more technical terms the ISORegistry module is used to (actually hopefully will be used) to manage item classes according to processes defined by ISO 19135 (Geographic information – Procedures for item registration). The individual item classes are defined in separate submodules with corresponding content types because they have different tasks and functions.
This far, the ISO 19135 registry workflow is not implemented. However, currently, the following item classes are implemented (without the ISO processes obviously):
codelists
- Import XML files that are compliant to the INSPIRE codelist schema (http://inspire.ec.europa.eu/codelist/codelist.de.iso19135xml)
- Build hierarchial codelists using forms in the Drupal GUI
- Output via GUI and as INSPIRE XML (REST)
- Using the standard workflow of Drupal i18n is possible
namespaces
- Manageable through the standard workflow of Drupal
- ID-Resolver (kind of proxy to use short URLs with an additional ID to point to services and get a response from these): Using GET (as a redirect) and POST (as a proxy) requests and a corresponding result output
