Here is composer's error log:

$ composer2 require 'drupal/indieweb:^1.30'
./composer.json has been created
Running composer update drupal/indieweb
Loading composer repositories with package information
Updating dependencies
Your requirements could not be resolved to an installable set of packages.

Problem 1
- Root composer.json requires drupal/indieweb, it could not be found in any version, there may be a typo in the package name.

Potential causes:
- A typo in the package name
- The package is not available in a stable-enough version according to your minimum-stability setting
see for more details.
- It's a private package and you forgot to add a custom repository to find it

Read for further common problems.

Installation failed, deleting ./composer.json.

I don't understand problem 1, since indieweb is what I am trying to install. The potential causes baffle me, because I'm a humble blogger....

The last time I got an error like this was updating Drupal 11.3.* to 11.4.* when the wrong version of guzzle was installed and I had to roll back the site. That made me nervous.

Drupa 11.4.7, PHP 8.4.25.

From the feedback of the command, it looks like you are running this in a directory with no composer.json - if you don't have a composer.json with the 'repositories' key in it which points to packages.drupal.org/8, you can not require a package from drupal at all.
