Hi Thanks for all the work that goes into these modules & their updates..

In my situation, I'm trying to update the individual modules on my site.. and core.. ; my images are no longer referenced.. not rendered in the html page.. just empty div/span tags..

when I look at the view information; I see broken linked fields..
and have this message;

* Poster Image (field_poster_img) is an inactive File field that uses a linkimagefield_widget widget.
* poster thumb (field_poster_thmb) is an inactive File field that uses a linkimagefield_widget widget.

my environment is:

core: Drupal 6.13
FileField 6.x-3.0
uploaded 6.x-3.3 (2010-May-05) but rolled it back;
ImageCache 6.x-2.0-beta9
uploaded 6.x-2.0-beta10 but rolled it back;
ImageField 6.x-3.0
ImageField Tokens 6.x-1.0 ( didn't upgrade at all yet)
uploaded 6.x-3.3 (2010-May-05) but rolled it back;

cck upgraded. .Content Construction Kit (CCK) 6.x-2.6
Chaos tool suite 6.x-1.3 (this probably doesn't apply here; )

Views 6.x-2.6 (didn't get to this update yet-not updated at all)

as you may guess, I'm abit anxious now .. certainly important that i get those images back up..
thank you for all your help.. **please** thx

more.. the view information has this message for the id field:
Broken or missing handler:
Error: handler for node_data_field_poster_thmb > field_poster_thmb_fid doesn't exist!

and
Broken or missing handler:
Error: handler for node_data_field_poster_img > field_poster_img_data doesn't exist!

and
Broken or missing handler:
Error: handler for node_data_field_poster_img > field_swag_img_fid doesn't exist!

right now, I'm just like the Gulf of mexico oil spill.. putting back my old modules in the hope that it will bring back my images.. and nothing's been damaged to the database..
i've done no updates to the database script..
(date field gave me errors.. and I rolled that back as well.. )

updating is a problem.. thanks for the help ..anyone..

..this is so discouraging..

Ok. I understand my stupid mistake now:
I have a module installed ' linkimagefield.. which has a widget type of linkimage..
the update must've disabled that particular module..
once I figured that out, renabled the module, the images relying on that widget reappeared.. took forever.

lesson learned.
onward.
thank you for anyone who reviewed this.. and maybe someone else can learn from my mistake..

Hi eggonbeagle, I read this a few times today but I couldn't get my head around the whole problem. Thanks for the followup.
