Wouldn't it make more sense to store the path of the image relative to Drupal's files directory?

Having it hard coded to the absolute path from root make it's a real annoyance when migrating sites, using modules like Features, and more.

Is there a reason I'm missing?

See #98199: ['filepath'] is'nt portable. Move servers, change Settings > File system path - everything breaks and can't be updated..

Then I highly suggest the default image is not an upload field but rather a specified path to the image, either relative to the files directory or a full path.

Good idea?
