I use the 6.x-3.0 version of the imagefield, but it create imagefield_default_images,imagefield_thumbs. It's not very nice, can they be located in a folder named imagefiled or any others as subfolders??If so,it could be more nice to manage the filesystem..

Currently these paths are hard-coded and can't be changed. This request sounds valid though, if I'm understanding it correct you'd like to have the following structure instead?

Rather than:

files/imagefield_default_images
files/imagefield_thumbs

Use:

files/imagefield/default_images
files/imagefield/thumbs

Yes,that what i mean,Can it be possible?Or it's very hardcoded?

It's not possible currently but it's a good thing to keep on the radar. We'll need to write an update function to move the images from their current location to the new one.

Must say, i am new to the module, have used other methods for image handling for the last 2 years.

I was a bit confused seeing all these folders appear rather than just one with sub-directories especially as i had other directories with similar names, so add my vote for this feature

This is unlikely to ever change in Drupal 6 unfortunately. If we ever do anything at all, it would be #402014: Use imagecache for thumbnails, which I'm keeping open.
