Drupal v6.20
ImageCache 6.x-2.0-beta10
When I upload an image using ImageField, the file gets is given incorrect permissions and a different user and group.
Example:
~/sites/default/files/artwork/image.jpg has permissions 664, owner: dhapache, group: dhapache
~/sites/default/files/imagefield_thumbs/artwork/image.jpg has permissions 664, owner: dhapache, group: dhapache
ImageCache cannot generate associated images from the original (~/sites/default/files/artwork/image.jpg)
All of my other images in ~/sites/default/files/artwork/ have permissions 755, owner: myuser, group: mygroup
I think this started happening after I migrated hosts, am not having problems with images uploaded separate from ImageField. I can fix an individual file's permissions, but this isn't a solution. What would cause this?

quicksketch664 is the correct permission level for new files uploaded through Drupal. The files that have 755 permission are probably that way because you manually uploaded them through FTP. 664 makes it so that Drupal can read and write these file, but not execute them. It also makes it so that other users on the same web servers cannot write or execute them (read-only). So in truth the files that you've uploaded via FTP are the ones with wrong permissions, possibly providing mechanisms for other users on the same server to execute those files. The owner of all uploaded files should be the dhapache user on your particular server. I'd recommend attempting to ssh into your server to update these to the correct user.

estherswhite commentedOk. If 664 is appropriate, do you have any idea why ImageCache is having problems with files owned by dhapache? Thanks

quicksketchCould you be more clear about how ImageCache is having problems? What errors are you actually receiving?
