quicksketchThe ?0123456789 number is the timestamp of when the image was uploaded. This prevents any caching problems (both in the browser and by reverse-proxy caches). If you view the image URL directly, can you access the file?

Anonymous (not verified) commentedOk,
Bizarrely the image doesn;t show when i put the url in specifically... even though all the files and the path seem to be in the right places...
I get a Server 500 error
"Either the server is overloaded or there was an error in a CGI script. "

quicksketchIn which case it sounds like an issue with your server configuration. If the file exists on disk (visible via FTP), then you should contact your host as to why you can't access it through a web browser.

Anonymous (not verified) commentedThe problem turned out to be in my .htaccess file - that had also been causing me other problems without me knowing. The support guy at my hosting service fixed it very quickly.
I should do a plug for them actually - they are excellent. chameleonwebhosting.
And thank you to you too quicksketch.
