I think this post http://drupal.org/node/472998 is still true.
I have a problem with filefield, that when my partner tries to update a node with an imagefield/imagecache, he has to remove the image, by doing this, all terms are gone from the node!
When I click save on the phone, everything goes smoothly, but when he clicks save on his computer then not only the image is not shown anymore, but also the terms are empty. May be related to the fact that in opinion of post 472998 the global node form get validated.

There is probably a JavaScript error on the page that is causing the page not to upload via AJAX. In such a situation, all validation on the form is executed. Unfortunately I am unable to help with support issues at this time, and it doesn't seem that any others are jumping to solutions. As such, I'm closing this issue directly. Please reopen if you feel, but I won't be investigating this issue.
