Hi all,
here is the issue>
Images are never showing, neither in the preview after upload, nor in the full node.
I checked the path to the image with Firebug: ''http://www.mysite.com/sites/default/files/chess4.jpg?1295354319''
I tried to switch the File system to Private, and then it all worked perfectly.
Modules:
Drupal 6.20
CCK 2.9
Filefield 6x-3.9
ImageField 6x-3.9
& some other Core optional modules (other image modules are not installed)
Configuration:
Clean urls enabled
File system: Public
Files folder permision: 775
I cant see any tmp folder, although it is set in the File system configuration.
Thanks for any advice.

quicksketchThis problem clearly does not exist on a default install of Drupal and ImageField. Note that you CANNOT change from private to public filesystem. If you have any existing files this will break those paths. You need to manually update the database if you ever change this setting or move your files directory.
I'm guessing you're experiencing this problem due to the "files" table containing the wrong paths after moving or changing your file system settings.

delboard commentedThanks for the repply quicksketch,
to check it again, I did a fresh install of drupal 6.20, CCK 2.9 and imagefield 3.9, on a newly created database and.. the images are really not showing. File system is set to Public by default. I didnt change the path. All I did was configuring Page content type, to add there imagefield.
On the previous installation, I switched to Private file system just to find the problem. If the images are working on Private setting, I guess the problem shouldnt be in the server settings.. Images are uploaded in the correct path. Im lost here :).

quicksketchIf you go to an individual image like this: http://www.eumart.sk/sites/default/files/chess3_0.png
You get an server 500 error. This means that Apache is not configured correctly to serve up that image. I'm guessing that the image is actually there (you can check with an FTP application), but a server configuration problem is preventing that image from actually being served. At this point, Drupal is not involved in any way, it's purely Apache is unable to read the file from disk and serve it to the browser.

delboard commentedGreat, thanks quicksketch.
You are right. Problem was with permissions of Files folder, my host doesnt allow write permission for groups, so the problem is solved with changing it from 775 to 755.
