While this module works perfectly with jpg-images (thank you very much for this module, which is quite more handy than imagecache!), it seems to have problems with gif-images:
Every time I upload a gif-image I get back a thumbnail which has the same dimensions as the original-Image (that means 4:3) and which contains the square-made image centred in the middle. Please have a look at the attachment! The messages of imagemagick are quite the same for gif and jpg.
Is there anybody, who can imagine what the cause might be?

nimrodwebdesign commentedHi,
Firstly, that's fantastic that someone has found my module useful.
Secondly, oh dear. To be honest I never tried it with GIFs, I only ever intended to use it with JPGs. I think I was just using the standard GD library, not ImageMagick. Can you try that? It seems unlikely that it could be a problem with ImageMagick though.
If i get a chance, which problably won't be very soon now that I have a baby, I'll look into it.

smitty commentedWell, I too intended to use it only with JPGs. But I had some users, who had something other in mind.
But I think the issue is solved now.
I've tested it with the standard GD library - and it worked fine.
Then I updated the image module from version 5.x-1.6 to version 5.x-1.9 - and it worked fine even with ImageMagick.
So I assume that changes in the image module (especially in the imagemagick.inc; I'm not very well versed in image manipulations but perhaps it was: http://drupal.org/node/183688) are responsible, that it is working now.
Thanks again for this great module and sorry for the false alarm.
