This formatter return absolute URL's of original images or image style if configured. The default formatter for the image doesn't work for REST services because of return HTML tags for images.
Usage
- Select existing image field or create new one under desired content type.
- Go to /admin/structure/types/manage/{content-type}/display
- Change the format field and select "Image Raw Formatter" Or select formatter in views fields image
