I am installing aegir for the first time on ubuntu and I could not follow the documentation exactly to be able to come this far. I am now stuck at point 12 and the command:
php /var/aegir/drush/drush.php --uri=http://aegir.example.com hosting setup
is outputting:
Table 'aegir.node' doesn't exist [error]
query: SELECT COUNT(t.vid) FROM aegir_hosting_task t INNER JOIN node
n ON t.vid = n.vid WHERE t.task_status = 0 in
/var/aegir/drupal-6.16/profiles/hostmaster/modules/hosting/task/hosting_task.module
on line 344.
Command hosting setup needs a higher bootstrap level to run - you [error]
will need invoke drush from a more functional Drupal environment to
run this command.
The command 'drush.php hosting setup' could not be executed. [error]
when I click next on the wizard page I get the error:
user warning: Table 'aegir.node' doesn't exist query: SELECT COUNT(t.vid) FROM aegir_hosting_task t INNER JOIN node n ON t.vid = n.vid WHERE t.task_status = 0 in /var/aegir/drupal-6.16/profiles/hostmaster/modules/hosting/task/hosting_task.module on line 344.
The problem most probably is that the hosting module does not encounter for database prefix.
"... INNER JOIN node n ON t.vid ..." should be "... INNER JOIN aegir_node n ON t.vid ..."
I will try to reinstall the whole thing without database prefix.

Anonymous (not verified) commentedAegir doesn't currently support table prefixes
#483346: allow importing of table-prefixed database setup
Comment #2
adrian commenteddb prefixes are explicitly not supported for the aegir front end.

nullvariable commentedit sure would be helpful to know this during the setup process. I must have missed it somewhere and the gui part of the installation allowed it just fine. It really should be hidden or noted at that part of the process as I had to redo my whole database (which worked fine for a while until aegir rewrote the settings.php file).

adrian commentedthere is no gui part of the installation anymore.
