Generates a Hex.tech semantic-model YAML from a Drupal site's entity and field definitions, so Hex's AI agents can query the Drupal database through a semantic layer that already understands Drupal's storage.

Drupal stores each field in its own table, keeps revisions and translations alongside live data, and encodes meaning in configuration rather than in the schema. This module reads that configuration and writes one Hex model per entity type and per bundle, with the field joins, bundle filters, deleted-row and translation handling, timestamp conversions and reference relations already expressed. Field labels, descriptions and allowed values become the dimension names and descriptions the agent reads. The output is committed to your repository and published to Hex with Hex Context Sync, so the semantic layer stays in step with the site's configuration.

Features

  • Uses Hex's native semantic modelling specification.
  • One model per entity type and per bundle, with child models for multi-value fields and relations for entity references.
  • Configurable entity type selection, field exclusions with conservative defaults for credentials, and internal visibility for models that should exist for joins but not for browsing.
  • An alter hook for site-specific naming or additions, and an optional submodule that names Group relationship types readably.
  • A Drush command for generation, suited to running in CI.
