Hackpad has been bought by Dropbox, and transformed into their Paper product. None of the APIs this module used are still available. No further maintenance or development on this module will occur.
Integrate the Hackpad service with your Drupal site. Hackpad is a hosted service based on the old Etherpad code allowing collaborative editing of documents in a manner similar to Google Docs.

Planned features include:
- Basic API to allow module developers to embed a pad directly into a site
- Creation of a widget for Text Field API fields to use Hackpad as the editing widget
- API callbacks to allow Drupal to index the contents of pads and store "pure HTML" versions of them for display throughout the rest of the site
- Integration with node access controls to ensure that users can't directly edit pads that aren't associated with nodes they have access to edit
