I would like to have the option to show the user's guestbook link in his/her profile.

Even better would be to find a way to add the guestbook directly into the profile with snippets but this can do for now ;)

1) The user's guestbook link is already in the user's profile, it says:

Guestbook
view recent guestbook entries

2) Some people seems to have had success adding the guestbook directly into the profile. The receipt is for v4.6, though:

You may also do this with a profile template and the snippet

 <?php
print module_invoke('guestbook', 'page', $user->uid)
?>

It's actually really nice this way since it does not show a link to the guestbook but the guestbook and form itself.
