Group Recurring Events adds Group support for Recurring Events: put event series and event instances in groups, with per-role permissions for each and overview pages, like Group Node does for nodes.

Group lets you organize content and users into groups and control what each member role can do. Recurring Events generates every occurrence of an event from one recurrence rule. This module connects the two, so each group can own and manage its own events.

Features

  • Two Group relation types, "Group event series" and "Group event instance", created per event type.
  • Per-role permissions for series and instances: view, view unpublished, edit, delete and create ("any" and "own" where they apply).
  • Instances follow their series: they are added to, and removed from, the series' groups automatically.
  • Overview pages for each group, with their own permissions: group/{group}/event-series and group/{group}/event-instances (filterable by the group's event series).

Use it when different teams, departments or chapters each manage their own recurring events.

Post-Installation

  1. Enable the module.
  2. On the group type's Content tab, install "Group event series" and "Group event instance".
  3. On the group type's Permissions tab, grant the event permissions to each group role, including the two "overview" permissions.
