Hi,

I'm wondering if it's possible to hide the "Group Settings" vertical tab on the node edit page when the node is not a group node?

Or at the very least change the weight such that the tab is located at the bottom of the page.

It should only show for people with enough permissions. So as user 1 you will always see it. Have you tried looking at the same screen with other accounts?

I have been looking into revamping the UI so it only shows when accessed from a group page. Now it indeed attaches to global node creation as well to give admins the option to create group content from anywhere on the site.

Yes, I've tried non-admin accounts and still see tab. The tab is shown on all nodes.

I can see the usefulness of being able to create group content from anywhere. In my particular use case, however, it would be better if this tab was only shown when accessed from a group and only for content types that have the permission "create new content".

PS. Disabling the Group Node module removes the vertical tab.
