#2879327: $form_state error still appears to be an issue in the current release "8.x-1.0-rc1". This is awfully inconvenient when downloading the module the first time via composer. Can the maintainer create a new release?

Sure not a problem. I haven't visited this module in a very long time. Probably should ask for anyone that wants to help maintain it.
