I have a site with about 15 - 20 thousand location nodes. I have them all in csv format. Can they be imported so that the gmaps module fields are recognized? I just tried with the node import module and the gmaps fields weren't recognized for my content type.
Thanks in advance for any help!!

xmarket commentedThe node_import module is not yet supported, but data migration from the location module is subject of the next release.

dchampine commented+1 on migrating data from location module! I was planning to use Views Bulk Operations, but there are probably numerous pitfalls that I won't have enough control to avoid.

jusyjim commentedJust checking how data migration is coming along.

jusyjim commentedI'm waiting to port a site from Drupal 5.x with 25,000+ locations and I just want to clarify if I should be waiting at all.
The question I have is : Will your method of data migration be on import or from existing nodes that use the location module? ... In other words should the nodes already be imported or will they need to be imported when your module is ready for such migration?
Thanks in advance!

binaryflo commentedBump in support for importing existing locations.

tuma123 commentedI prefer the gmaps tools to gmap as well (many more features). importing would be very useful for me and a great addition.

jusyjim commentedI see there is a new dev version 9/30/10. I read the notes but didn't see anything about the location data migration. Is this still something that s being worked on?
Thanks.
