Glimpse - Predictive Accessibility Enhancer
Glimpse is a lightweight Drupal module that enhances accessibility by predicting user interactions based on cursor movement. It provides subtle visual cues, helping users—especially those with visual impairments—navigate websites more intuitively.
Features
- Predicts interactions by detecting cursor proximity to elements.
- Supports multiple CSS selectors for targeted elements.
- Customizable sensitivity (distance in pixels) for triggering effects.
- Highlight color option to improve visibility.
- Optional activation via a URL parameter (e.g.,
?glimpse=1).
Post-Installation
After installing the module, navigate to Configuration > User Interface > Glimpse to customize its behavior.
The settings allow you to define which elements are affected, the effect type, sensitivity, and highlight color.
If URL-based activation is enabled, you can trigger Glimpse dynamically by appending the configured parameter to the URL.
Additional Requirements
This module does not require any external dependencies beyond Drupal core.
Recommended modules/libraries
No additional libraries are required, but it can be used alongside other accessibility-focused modules for an improved experience.
Similar projects
Inspired by the concept of Premonish.js, but implemented natively within Drupal without requiring external JavaScript libraries. Unlike similar hover prediction tools, Glimpse is fully configurable through the Drupal UI.
