Cannot construct Point. x and y should be numeric in the Migration of data

When I try to import the geo data from a CSV file the values appeared to be strings and taken as non numeric so Geofield module appeared to give me the following error.

Cannot construct Point. x and y should be numeric

So I had to patch the geofield_latlon migration process plugin and cast the values to float to make it work. It appeared to be no matter what the source provides you it it important to cast them to float avoid such issues.
