Proximity filter with "Current user"

When creating a location-based view, I am trying to use "Current User" as the "Source of Origin Point" in the proximity filter and I selected a field of Geofield type as the "Source Field". However, the "Proximity Search" area still displays a "from" field, which does not seem to make sense since the "Source Field" is already specified. Nevertheless, if I just leave it empty, there is no complaints when the filter is saved. The only trouble is, the filter does not seem to take any effect. If I use a "Geocoded Location" as the "Source of Origin Point", everything works fine. Am I doing anything wrong? Any help is highly appreciated.

BTW, I made sure that the "Source Field" I specified indeed contains valid Lat/Long values.
