In using the GeoField Map to display the results of a search (exposed filter).

When there are no results, a map of the middle of the pacific ocean is displayed.

It would be great if either the views 'no results' are honored, or at least a "hide map on no results" checkbox (which I've seen on one of the other mapping options)

Seconded! This seems like a bit of an oversight...

I have similar issue.
Using geofield map in a view. And can do nothing to hide this empty map if the view gives no results.

Also helpful would be the option to show a full map with all results--for example, I have a dealer locator map for US companies. If I perform a proximity search and get no result, it would be nice to show our whole map of the US with all locations as pins, then display no results text beneath that.

Changing to a bug report, as this seems more like a bug than a feature.

Yep. Would appreciate this option when used as a field display (for addressfield) too.
EG: When an address is supplied as a Post Office Box it doesn't successfully geocode a point, therefore the map rendering is not required.

I need a solution too.
In my case the best solution would be to set a default position (lat, lon) if there are no results.

Not sure why there are 2 of these - https://drupal.org/node/1733864 - but that one has a patch that allows a default position.

I re-rolled that patch to add the option of not rendering the map and displaying the view's No results behavior. marking this as duplicate.
