I don't realy understand the difference between Location CCK and Geofield, nor the overall Geofield project...

This module will form part of the base for Location module (version 5). So basically location CCK will require this module as a dependency.

Location version 5 will moving to a different model. At it's core, location v5 will be an entity that uses portions of geofield, addressfield, geocode modules to make basic operations using these modules easier for the end user.

No Prob. Just to be clear, the details of this is all still being sorted out. Some of the mapping / location folk had a big talk about it at drupalcon, and we agreed on this general direction, but details need to be hammered out. I'll be putting a big post about it on both the location module issue queue and the mapping group at some point.

Just for reference, there is a related issue for this in the location module issue queue at #1063920: Integration with addressfield / geofield modules

Geofield is new to me but I'm all for reducing the duplication of code and peoples time so when I get myself up to speed I'd be happy to help out with any location/geofield integration or upgrade paths or whatever.
