Maybe this is not an issue, just me being stupid, but using 7.x-2.x-dev with drupal 7.7 I created a subtheme folder, created a templates folder within it, copied in page.tpl.php and removed the breadcrumb display line. Breadcrumbs are still there.
Also, I found a page on line referencing Genesis settings:
"Breadcrumbs can be enabled in the Genesis theme settings in the dashboard, where you will find four check boxes to have them either enabled or disabled on certain sections of sites."
My subtheme has no such settings available as far as I can find (which is why I'm trying a template mod). Is it the D7 version, or am I missing something? TIA

Jeff Burnz commentedYou say you created a "subtheme folder", but did you actually setup a proper subtheme?
I don't know what that stuff is about breadcrumbs, Genesis has no custom theme settings.
