Hi everyone,
I'm not sure if this is more of a D6 theme system question or a fusion one.
I created a subtheme of Acquia Slate (which is built on fusion) and when I go to 'admin/build/themes/settings/mytheme' I don't get the "Fusion Theme settings" fieldgroup. Should fusion "know" that MyTheme inherits from Acquia Slate which in turn inherits from Fusion?
Thanks,
Andrei

jeremycaldwell commentedHello Andrei, this is a limitation of Drupal actually. Drupal 6.x currently does not support sub-sub-themes. It does however support sub-themes just fine since Acquia Marina is a sub-theme. So when you have three or more themes working together it doesn't inherit the theme settings.
There have been some patches to Drupal that fix this so hopefully someday soon they will go in the official release. Until then we're out of luck for sub-sub-theming, sorry.

andreiashu commentedHi Jeremy, thanks for answering this for me. I was afraid that you might say that :-)
Hopefully this was fixed in D7. I would be really cool to be able to create a subtheme of Acquia Marina/Slate and alter just the bits that you need leaving the rest of the settings in place.
Cheers,
Andrei

jeremycaldwell commentedI'm pretty sure this issue has been fixed in Drupal 7 so there is a good chance that it will get added to Drupal 6 at some point. One can hope! :)
andreiashu commentedHopefully yes. Until then I just copied and altered the Acquia theme.
Also set a more appropriate status as this is not a bug/problem with fusion.
andreiashu commentedJust for reference: I think starting with Drupal 6.20 this (sub-sub themes) is possible.
jeremycaldwell commentedThis has been fixed in the latest release of Drupal 6.x (6.20!) so download your copy and you should be fine.
