Currently when you choose fluid layout. When using skinr all the valuse have to be fluid and they are in percentage. So we then have to manually put overrides in CSS to make some block fixed. So i would suggest to also leave 960 grid sizes that are fixed for choosing.

CSS overrides for fixed-width blocks in this situation would be the appropriate approach, since a fixed-width element in a fluid grid would subvert the structure of the grid. "3 of 12 units" in a fluid grid is a relative width by definition. There is no way to assign a finite pixel width to "3 of 12 units" when the width of the whole is unknown.
