Hello

I have recently installed Fusion and Magazeen 6.x-3.0-beta1 and I am very pleased with them, however I think that they might be causing JQuery errors. For about the last 3-4 weeks the WYSIWYG keeps vanishing and it never did this before installing Fusion/Magazeen.

Also when using IE I keep getting Jquery errors on the bottom left of the screen. I used the developer tools and I found that I did get quite a few JQuery errors in the console.

Any suggestions of what I might do to stop this happening?

Many thanks

Could you tell us what those javascript errors are?

Are you using Magazeen as your admin theme? Magazeen is not intended to be used as an Admin theme and I would highly recommend picking out one of the few themes that have been designed specifically to work as Admin themes, such as Rubick.

Thanks,
Sheena

Hi Sheena

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.

I was orginally using Magazeen as the admin theme though I am now using Garland.

The error messages are all 'JQuery is undefined' messages, I have had them when trying to use the wysiwyg, views, accessing the themes section of the site. I don't recollect these messages before installing Fusion/Magazeen.

Could there be any conflicts with the JS in the theme and the other modules?

This only seems to happen after I have gone to the performance section of the site and refreshed the cached and enabed all the compression options.

To get around the problem I just refresh my cache by holding down Ctrl and F5 though I don't expect visitors to the site will know how to do this.

Any other suggestions of what I can do to solve this?

Many thanks

If the issue resolves after doing a hard refresh of your site (ctrl+F5) then it is most likely an issue with your browser's cache trying to load an old version of the compressed JS file, which Drupal re-creates every time you clear the site's cache while JS compression is enabled. Try turning off the cache in your web browser and see if the issue persists. Also, try disabling JS compression and see if there are any errors in the site's javascript with compression turned off.

If this were a bug with Magazeen or Fusion I would expect the problem to be ubiquitous across all sites using Magazeen or Fusion. It is possible that there is some interaction between Magazeen and another module that is causing the issue. Since the problem seems to be that jQuery itself is not being loaded, I would look first to any modules that might alter Drupal Core's handling of jQuery, such as jQuery Update (although I've never heard of an issue like this with that module). It is also possible that any module using javascript could introduce a typo to the syntax of the compressed JS file, causing errors across the site's JS. I would suggest disabling any modules that use javascript one-by-one to see if the issue is resolved.

Hi Sheena

Many thanks for getting back to me so quickly with your suggestions. I will try disabling JS compression to see if this helps

Thanks again
