I have a custom menu created by Account Menu that I want to add using page.tpl.php. What would be the correct syntax to get it to print?

I have learned that I have to create a variable in function theme_name_preprocess(). I don't yet code in php, so I don't know where to begin here. Could someone provide the line to create the variable? I have gotten page.tpl.php to display a string variable I created as a test, but a variable that holds a menu is beyond me.
